Secrets

Asteroids on the PlayStation offers a double dose of goodness by offering the remake and the ability to unlock and exploit the original arcade favorite.

Asteroids PlayStation Version
  • Unlock Hidden Ship
    At the title screen: Hold Select and press Triangle, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Square, Circle, Square. You’ll hear a ‘thunk’ sound. The ship Excalibur will now be in the last slot.
  • Find & Play Original Asteroids
    Play the first mission till Level 15 – shoot the wireframe asteroid. It will indicate you have unlocked it. The original will now be available at the main menu. Save your game to a Memory Card to keep it unlocked.
  • Unlock Original Asteroids
    At the title screen, hold Select and press Circle. Circle, Circle, Triangle, Square, Square, Circle. You’ll hear a ‘thunk’ sound. Classic Asteroids will now be in the main menu.
  • Stage Select & Invincibility
    At the title screen Hold Select and press Square, Triangle, Circle, Triangle, Triangle, Square, Circle. Now start a game and hold Select and Press Start to access collision detection and stage selection. Once you choose a stage, press L1.
Asteroids Classic Version
  • Classic Asteroids Extra Life
    Pause Classic Asteroids and casually press Up, Down, Left, Right, Circle, Square, Cross, Triangle
  • Classic Asteroids 99 Lives
    Pause Classic Asteroids and press Up, Cross, Down, Triangle, Left, Square, Right, Circle. You’ll hear a chime and the number of ships visually changes to 5.
  • Classic Asteroids Invincibility
    Pause Classic Asteroids and press Down, Down, Up, Up, Circle, Square, Triangle, Triangle. You’ll hear an explosion sound to confirm.
