INTRODUCTION

The InterAct Memory Card Plus uses compression technology to give it 120 game-save slots, eight times the capacity of standard memory cards. Memory Card Plus contains eight memory pages, each capable of storing up to 15 game saves.

SAVING DATA

  1.  Insert the Memory Card Plus into one of the “Memory Card” slots above the controller ports on your PlayStation.
  2. Select the “Memory Card” option from the game’s menu. Follow the on-screen instructions for that particular game. NOTE: The first time you save a game, you will be asked if you want to format the Memory Card Plus. Simply select “yes” and continue.
  3. Once the first page is filled with 15 game saves, you will need to select a new page. NOTE: Upon turning on your system, the Memory Card Plus will automatically return to the last page in use. Ex: If you’ve used up all of page 1, and then turn off your system while on page 2, the Memory Card Plus will return to page 2 the next time you attempt a save.
  4. To save on the page of your choice, simply press the toggle switch the number of times that corresponds to the page number. Ex: To select page 3, simply press the toggle switch 3 times. To return to page 1, press the toggle button 1 time. The LED will blink with each button press.
  5. It is a good idea to keep track of what you have saved on each page for easy reference upon re-loading those saves during game play. We suggest recording this information on a piece of paper and storing it with your Memory Card Plus.

RE-LOADING SAVED DATA

  • Again, select the “Memory Card” option in the game’s menu.
  • Select the correct page of the Memory Card Plus containing the desired data.
  • Refer to that particular game’s instructions for accessing saved data.

ERASING THE MEMORY

WARNING: Erasing the Memory Card Plus wipes out ALL saved data.

The card can be erased using either of the following two methods:

  1. While inserting the Memory Card Plus, hold down the toggle button until the LED flashes 5 times. The card is now erased. NOTE: If you release the button before the last flash, the erasing procedure will abort.
  2. With the card inserted, turn off the PlayStation system. Hold down the toggle button while turning the PlayStation back on until the LED flashes 5 times. The card is now erased. NOTE: Again, If you release the button before the last flash, the erasing procedure will abort.

MAINTENANCE

  1. Store your Memory Card Plus in a clean, dry place.
  2. Do not expose your Memory Card Plus to magnetic fields or x-ray equipment, as this may erase the contents.

TROUBLESHOOTING

When you are swapping pages, the card must not be removed from the PlayStation. If the card is removed, the data will become corrupted on the card, and you will need to reset the card. To reset the card, insert it in the PlayStation and turn the power off (do not use the reset button). Hold the button on the memory card down while powering up your PlayStation until the LED has flashed 5 times. Then, release the button. All data has been removed, and the cartridge is now factory reset.

While swapping pages the status LED will remain on for a short period of time. Do not worry about this, as the more data on the pages being swapped, the longer the light will remain on. After the pages are swapped, the LED will go off, and the cartridge can be safely removed.

If you select a page greater than ‘8,’ you will cause an error in the card, resulting in 10 short flashes on the LED. The card will reset itself, and the contents will remain unaltered.

If you try to make a save on a page that does not have enough memory, an error occurs, denoted by 10 short LED flashes. You must remove the save and try again on a new page.

If the information does not save:

  1. Check the game’s instruction manual or packaging to make sure that it supports the “Memory Card” feature
  2. Make sure the card is pushed into the slot securely. If the card still does not work properly, call the InterAct technical support line at 410-785-5661, 9:00am-8:00pm EST (weekdays), or send an E-mail to support@gameshark.com. (Jason’s note: These no longer work)
