Secrets

  • The people in the background crowd were interchangeable by Midway. Here in Chicago, local radio ‘shock jock’ Eric Mancow Muller was in the background near the crowd center. In other versions there was a censored character eating something on the far left. Various programmers are in there, and still are for the home version.
  • The arcade versions could be converted over from Mortal Kombat 3 boards.
  • Most of the design team is the same creative staff that handled NBA Jam, NHL Open Ice, etc.
  • There’s some beautiful subtle animations in the game. For example, keep an eye on Bam-Bam’s outfit. The flames on his jumpsuit will actually pulsate and come off it, making it look like he’s on fire

  • Random Select
    On the Character Select screen, hold Up and press Start.
  • Infinite Combo Meter
    At the Character Select screen hold L1 + R2 and press Square, Cross, Circle, Triangle. You will see the word Combo appear near your wrestler photo. The Combo Meter is now always full.
  • Invincibility
    Pause the game and press Cross, Triangle, R2, Up – a flash appears to confirm.
  • Make CPU Stupid
