Madden NFL 98 allows you the chance to unlock several hidden teams and stadiums – but there’s a catch. For each created player you make to activate said cheat, you must keep that created player. If you delete them, you lose their activated cheat.
To input these codes, from the main menu choose Front Office, Create Player, and then all you need is the name. You can leave every other item untouched, just be sure to save.
Unlocked teams are listed after the final standard team.

Unlocked Stadiums will appear at the bottom of the stadium list in a second alphabetical listing.
