The Sega CD was an attempt to jump on the then state-of-the-art Compact Disc revolution, allowing the Genesis more storage space, the ability stream real music from a game and play actual music CDs, and provide full motion video in-game. Like the TurboGrafx-16, developers seemed to not know what to do with the extra features aside from real music and a FMV opening. Many Sega CD titles were essentially just ‘remastered’ editions of Sega Genesis carts.
