Magazine Ads
ASCII went all in when it came to their advertising for King’s Field II. The 3-page ad was written and illustrated to look like a video game magazine’s actual review section. Obviously marked ‘advertisement’, it still a great poke at classic game publications like GamePro. Clicking the image takes you to our archive.org hi-res version.
This is one version of the ad.
A second verrsion of the ad sees the copyright text at the bottom right of page 3 become 2 lines, rather than three. That’s right, it’s a variant, baby!
The third version is a complete overhaul of the layout and color choices. This fell in line more with EGM and GameFan layout styles.
