FOX INTERACTIVE TO UNLEASH AN AWESOME LINE-UP OF TITLES FOR `96 AND BEYOND
LOS ANGELES, May 15, 1996 — From sci-fi thrillers to hard core action/adventures to hilarious high jinks, Fox Interactive has a powerful line-up of exciting interactive entertainment in development. Working with some of the best developers in the industry and inspired by hit Fox properties such as the popular TV shows The X-Files and The Simpsons and the upcoming feature film, Independence Day, Fox Interactive’s slate for 1996 and 1997 is a competitive one.
Upcoming releases from Fox Interactive include:
THE SIMPSONS: VIRTUAL SPRINGFIELD — You find yourself in a strange place… a town green surrounded by buildings that are oddly familiar. As you turn around, you realize you are face to face with the bronzen image of founding father Jebadiah Springfield. This is no ordinary town, this is Springfield, USA…virtual style.
Law and order as you know it no longer apply — you re a Springfieldian now. As a citizen of Springfield enjoy the patronage of Apu Nahasapeemapetilon’s Kwik-E-Mart, or the solitude of the Springfield Public Library. Discover that membership has its privileges at the Stonecutter’s Lodge or on a visit to C. Montgomery Burns Executive Wash Room (if you re resourceful enough to find the keys). As a virtually tax paying citizen you should enjoy the ability to check in on Mayor “Diamond” Joe Quimby, or visit Principal Seymour Skinner. The Elm Street Arcade offers a variety of games for you to waste your not so hard earned virtual money. From the safety of Bart’s Tree house, exercise your right to soak passersby with water balloons at will. Or, while visiting Homer’s office at work, waste some time, and donuts, working the control panels in Sector 7G of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant.
Designed in close cooperation with Matt Groening, VIRTUAL SPRINGFIELD recreates the environment of The Simpsons using the incredible voice talents of the entire cast of the smash-hit Fox TV series. Springfield has been completely recreated using 3D animation for all exterior locations, allowing you to amble right up to Moe’s or boldly walk into the Simpson s house (rummaging through their mailbox before you enter). Once inside one of the many interactive locations, the 2D world of the Simpsons is exactly recreated. Thumb through Homer and Marge’s Yearbook, search in Bart’s closet, or under his bed…if you dare. There is nothing you can t virtually do in Springfield, and each time through promises to be a unique experience. The trip to VIRTUAL SPRINGFIELD begins in stores late 1996 for Windows `95 and Power Mac CD-ROMs.
X-FILES — Trust no one as you help FBI agents Mulder and Scully solve the yet unexplained mysteries of the “X-FILES.” Fox Interactive developers are working with Chris Carter, the show’s creator, to bring the look and feel of the show onto an original, interactive CD-ROM.
The X-FILES is the next generation of character interactivity, showcasing VirtualCinema, a full-screen interactive video process which tracks characters and their actions to an unprecedented degree, immersing you in the action. Full-motion video, shot exclusively for this title, allows you to search through files, access Mulder and Scully’s computer database, examine clues and evidence, interview witnesses and interact with characters from the show. The X-FILES will unfold in stores in 1997 for Windows 95 CD-ROM and Macintosh CD-ROM.
ALIENS VS. PREDATOR — Survival of the fittest reigns supreme when all hell, and a host of deadly new Alien breeds, breaks loose on Varicella 413, a frozen planet at the farthest point in the galaxy. This icy planet is headquarters to the Biological Warfare Research Establishment Pandora where scientists are experimenting with the most dangerous biological weapon of all time — the Alien. When rival interests sabotage the base, Pandora s box of beasts is open, and Varicella 413 has become a slaughterhouse filled with experimental alien breeds, including the Alien s arch-foe, the Predator. Whether playing as an Alien drone defending your hive, a deadly Predator on the prowl or an armed-to-the-teeth Colonial Marine trying to defend the base against alien cyborgs, your objective is to fight to the bloody finish.
ALIENS VS. PREDATOR is rendered in breathtaking high-resolution 3D graphics and utilizes realistic, bone-chilling sound to deliver in your face first-person action. ALIENS VS. PREDATOR lashes out in stores in Spring 1997 for Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Windows 95 CD-ROM.
THE TICK — Inspired by the popular comic book, THE TICK is a wildly comedic action-adventure game that takes conventional ideas about superhero gameplay, chops them up, shakes them into a blender full of absurdity and slapstick and serves them up as a game unlike any other — breaking the conventional boundaries of action videogame-play, and reality itself, in the process. The Tick s mission is to find and stop the Super Villain who has been poisoning the City s precious candy supply.
Whether fighting the Million-Zillion Ninjas in the City to battling an army of rampaging cornstalks animated by the insidious El Seed in the countryside, the Tick is a superhero like no other, braving danger in a game where even the boundaries of the play area can be shattered, and death results not from battle, but rather from the Tick s level of boredom. THE TICK will change your mind about gameplay action, or he ll leave you with a watermelon over your head. THE TICK for Sony Playstation and Sega Saturn will leap onto retail shelves in late 1996.

5-16-1996 ALIEN ATTACK FIGHTERS INVADE EARTH ON INDEPENDENCE DAY…
THE GOAL IS UTTER GLOBAL ANNIHILATION
LOS ANGELES — May 16, 1996 — You are the Earth’s last hope… Strapping yourself in the seat of a jet fighter, you are a fearless pilot, leading a battle to stop the madness of an Alien invasion force, starting its final attack on Earth. Inspired by the feature film premiering July ’96, Fox Interactive delivers the thrill-packed action and adventure of INDEPENDENCE DAY on Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Windows ® 95 CD-ROM.
In your race to save the world from an armada of Aliens set to wipe out civilization, make your way through fully-rendered 3-D environments in this flight-and-fight quest to destroy the Aliens’ Mothership. Build an armed fleet comprised of mankind’s greatest fighter jets — from FA-18’s to the Soviet MiG-31. One by one, blast each of the giant spacecraft ready to obliterate major world centers as the onslaught intensifies and cities begin to fry, and the fate of the Earth falls in your hands.
“INDEPENDENCE DAY is a unique blend of gameplay incorporating the maneuverability of a great flight simulator with the exciting action of head-to-head air combat over recognizable city scapes,” said Jon Richmond, president, Fox Interactive. “Hard-core gamers will find its fast-paced visual action, uncomplicated controls and hyper-realistic plane maneuverability irresistible.”
Your mission, as the fighter pilot — stop the aliens, NOW! First you must battle Alien attack fighters on your own quest to reach the City Destroyers which are deployed by the massive Alien Mothership in Earth’s orbit. From Washington, D.C. to Moscow, and from Cape Canaveral to a Russian Submarine Base at Nakhoda, the City Destroyers position themselves on top of more than a dozen cities or bases, waiting for orders from the Mothership to decimate their most sought-after targets.
The invading Alien force has its own assortment of spacecraft and weaponry in their fight to take over Earth, including a number of vehicles that don’t use flight as a primary mode of travel — another fatal weapon the player must avoid.
A detailed on-screen display which includes radar, speed, score and missile count gives you important information needed to carry out each mission. As Aliens draw closer, you search for the one vulnerable target which will destroy the Mothership — and when you find it, you better be ready!

5-16-1996 FOX INTERACTIVE COMBINES THREE EXPLOSIVE ADVENTURES IN ONE EXCITING GAME…
FOX INTERACTIVE COMBINES THREE EXPLOSIVE ADVENTURES IN ONE EXCITING GAME WITH DIE HARD TRILOGY
— Video Game Critics and Hardcore Gamers Are Blown Away —
LOS ANGELES, May 16, 1996 — Critics and gamers around the world are raving about Fox Interactive’s DIE HARD TRILOGY, the most explosive game ever to blast off a video screen. Experts agree that one game is never enough and this blockbuster — which packs three distinctly different adventures on one amazing disc — is THE must-have action-adventure game for 1996.
DIE HARD GAME FAN — “The visual effects are insane…”
EGM — “All the mayhem and action you’ve come to expect… excellent attention to detail.”
GAME INFORMER — “Fox Interactive has done the impossible …everything you want is here.”
VIDEO GAMES — 10 out of 10 rating. “So amazing that every PlayStation owner on God’s Earth will undoubtedly buy it.”
You’re at the center of three totally different, thrill-packed adventures playing John McClane (a cop with a habit of being barefoot in the wrong place at the wrong time) as he takes on a highly trained team of international terrorists. It’s non-stop action with any adventure you choose, each delivering amazing depth, palm-sweating realism and detail packed into 40 levels. First, put your search and destroy skills to work as you fight and shoot your way through a high-rise wired to explode in DIE HARD. Then, use your best marksmanship to gun down terrorists in a besieged airport in DIE HARDER. And in DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE, drive above, below and through a crowded city besieged with hidden bombs in a race that challenges your most “offensive” driving skills.
For even more true-to-life action, gamers can use next-generation targeting peripherals and steering wheels to make the DIE HARD experience complete.
“Early indicators show that DIE HARD TRILOGY will be this season’s hottest title. Editorial coverage and reviews have been overwhelmingly positive and retailer response has been very enthusiastic,” said Jon Richmond, president, Fox Interactive. “We’ve also received incredible industry support from Sega and Sony, who are as excited about this title as we are.”
DIE HARD
The first adventure — DIE HARD — puts you inside Nakatomi Plaza, a Los Angeles skyscraper on the brink of obliteration, for an intense search and rescue mission. The battle begins down in the parking garage as you make your way up, floor-by-floor, to the penthouse through more than a dozen distinctive game play levels — searching hallways, office suites, even a grand ballroom. Throughout your quest, you discover hidden bombs and collect grenades and machine guns to build your arsenal of weapons.
With the clock ticking away, a directional sight helps you spot evil gunmen while you locate the hostages, who are bound and gagged throughout the high-rise. An over-the-shoulder perspective puts you right where the action is while an exclusive “obstacle fade-out” feature ensures that John McClane is never blocked from your view as he moves past walls, posts or doors. Will innocent lives be saved or will bodies be blown to oblivion as Nakatomi Plaza is wired to explode. It’s up to you to keep Los Angeles real estate from literally blowing sky high.
DIE HARDER
The second adventure takes you inside Washington/Dulles Airport for a fast moving, first-person perspective, arcade-style action shooter using motion capture technology and incredible real time special effects. There’s no time to check in your bags as danger comes at you from every angle in a detailed airport terminal overrun by armed terrorists. You’ll earn points faster than frequent flyer miles as you obliterate enemies all over the concourse, in the baggage claim area and even in the Duty Free Shop.
The chase continues outside on the icy runway and the surrounding Virginia countryside in high-speed snowmobiles. Avoid traps and the enemy because if you get in the line of fire, your vision will “literally blur” as the screen momentarily loses focus. The action comes to a climax with a high speed helicopter pursuit. Can you save the airport with rapid-fire speed or will this be a first-class ticket to one-way annihilation?
DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE
Third time’s a charm in DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE, a high-speed urban driving adventure. Get in, sit down, buckle up and hang on as you slam on the accelerator in a race against the clock. Zoom through the crowded streets and even down into the subway tunnels of New York City. A gang of terrorists has now stashed bombs throughout Manhattan and it’s your job to diffuse them. Seek out more than 15 different vehicles (ranging from a Yugo to a garbage truck to an Italian sports car) to burn rubber and send pigeons flying. Blaze through accurately texture-mapped and fully rendered streets and passageways of Chinatown, Wall Street, Harlem — even Central Park. Changing stop lights, gridlocked traffic, double-parked vans, NYPD squad cars and the crowds of pedestrians won’t stop you in your quest to find the hidden bombs before they vaporize Manhattan. A locator device helps direct you toward the stashed detonators. Do you have the skill to find them all?
Fox Interactive’s DIE HARD TRILOGY for Sony PlayStation is set to blast off retail shelves in August 1996, with the Sega Saturn and Windows 95 CD-ROM versions set to detonate in September. All versions carry an estimated shelf price of $54.98.

ID4: The Video Game Lets You Save The World —
LOS ANGELES, October 25, 1996 — You are the Earth’s last hope… Strapping yourself into the seat of a jet fighter, you are a fearless pilot, leading a battle to stop the madness of an Alien invasion force, starting its final attack on Earth. Inspired by the feature film, Fox Interactive is creating a flight-and-fight arcade experience of INDEPENDENCE DAY for Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Windows ® 95 CD-ROM.
In your race to save the world from an armada of Aliens set to wipe out civilization, city-by-city, Earth’s deadliest menace is waiting to attack. Make your way through real time 3-D environments in the quest to destroy the Alien’s Mothership. Then, build an armed fleet comprised of mankind’s greatest fighter jets — from FA-18’s, to EF 2000’s and Soviet MiG-31’s — to battle head-to-head with the Aliens. One by one, blast each of the giant spacecraft ready to obliterate London, New York, Tokyo, Moscow and other world centers. The onslaught intensifies as cities begin to fry and the fate of the Earth falls in your hands. The Independence Day video game lets players experience the action of this blockbuster movie first-hand, said Jon Richmond, president, Fox Interactive. In your quest to save Earth, you have the option of engaging in solo mission dog-fights with the Aliens or going head-to-head with another gamer on the same machine with a split screen or network gameplay.
The script for Independence Day the movie reads almost like a video game with multiple levels of non-stop action, said Dean Devlin, the film’s producer and writer. The game is faithful to the movie, letting players fight even more battles while providing the opportunity to experience the adventure first hand by becoming a character in the film.
Your mission, as the fighter pilot: stop the Aliens, NOW! In order to defeat the City Destroyers, you must attack their underside which is blocked by a defensive force field while you are also battling off the waves of Alien fighters and ground based weapons. In addition, gamers must complete a special mission within each level before they can move on to destroy the mothership.
For a spectacular conclusion boarding the captured Alien fighter, you fly inside the massive and threatening Mothership. As Alien troops appear, you search for the vulnerable target which will destroy the Mothership — and when you find it, fire! 6-19-1997 FOX INTERACTIVE UNLEASHES CROC A CRUSADING CROCODILE IN A TOTALLY ORIGINAL…
Hightail It to New Heights with Fox’s New Platform Game Hero!
LOS ANGELES, June 19, 1997 — Get ready for CROC, the snappy new star of Fox Interactive’s cool free-roaming 3D adventure, CROC: Legend of the Gobbos. Video game insiders are already raving about this completely original platform game with amazing next-generation graphics and animation that must be seen to be believed.
Developed by Argonaut Software for Fox Interactive, CROC is set to waddle onto store shelves this fall for PlayStation, Saturn and Windows® ’95.
Heralded by Next Generation magazine as a game “that has the potential to break open a market that has not yet fully been realized on Sony’s machine.” CROC is in direct contrast to the fighting and racing games flooding the video game market and offers a challenging adventure that appeals to a wide spectrum of gamers. Players guide CROC, a crusading crocodile, on a quest to rescue his Gobbo Islander friends from the grasp of Baron Dante, an evil magician.
Don’t let his good looks fool you, CROC’s jumps, climbs, swims, stomps, flips and other slick maneuvers will leave villains eating dust through more than 50 richly detailed levels encompassing over 200 gaming areas.
Other pubs raving about CROC include PSX Power Preview, which says the graphics are “to put it bluntly, stunning,” and Saturn World which calls it “a very impressive game.”
“As early previews are indicating, CROC: Legend of the Gobbos proves Fox has what it takes to create original characters,” said Jon Richmond, president of Fox Interactive. “We believe CROC will appeal to broad-based consumers in addition to traditional gamers of all ages.”
The game is driven by a robust 3D engine, enabling CROC to run, jump and swim almost anywhere. The animation is rendered using Gouraud shading textures and real-time lighting.
Navigating a fully 3D world, CROC can move in numerous ways to defeat his enemies and explore the islands. CROC swims, climbs, runs, jumps, stomps, flips, swings hand-over-hand, hangs on balloons and throws a mean tail whack. Each level challenges CROC to collect 50 crystals, six Gobbos and other various special pick-ups, which may temporarily freeze enemies or make CROC invincible. Additionally, each level contains special hidden rainbow crystals. If all rainbow crystals are collected, CROC frees his friends and gains access to special locked areas that offer added gameplay.
Challenging adversaries to save his gurgling little comrades, CROC waddles, with trusty backpack in tow, across four perilous islands. In the Forest, CROC encounters a treacherous land of collapsing bridges, killer bees, burrowing and popping worms, and a Fightin’ Ladybug, who challenges CROC to a ringside fight of size versus might. In the Ice land, CROC feels the chill as he slides and glides across ravines and slippery icebergs, trying to escape the ice cold clutches of Itsy The Ice Demon.
In the Desert, CROC feels the heat as he hightails it across a sandy land escaping the sizzle of the fireball-throwing Dantinis, bubbling mud pits and a spinning Cactus whose hands are loaded with shooting needles. On the Island of Baron Dante’s Castle, CROC is faced with a maze of torture towers which house ballistic Meg, Swipe Swifty, the sword-toting pirate, and Platform Pete, who sneakily overturns challenging spiked platforms in an effort to out-do the brave reptile.
ESRB rating is pending. CROC: Legend of the Gobbos will invigorate the PlayStation, Saturn and Windows® 95 market come fall of 1997.

6-19-1997 TERROR GOES OUT OF THIS WORLD IN FOX INTERACTIVE’S ALIENS VS. PREDATOR
TERROR GOES OUT OF THIS WORLD IN FOX INTERACTIVE’S ALIENS VS. PREDATOR
Feel the Fear Three Different Ways
ATLANTA, ELECTRONIC ENTERTAINMENT EXPO, Booth, #3723, June 19-21, 1997 — Extraterrestrial terror reigns supreme in Fox Interactive’s Aliens vs. Predator (AvP), a hard-core combat, arcade style action/adventure. AvP, a frightening, deep space quest featuring two of Twentieth Century Fox’s hottest sci-fi assets, is sure to shake up even the most courageous gamer, and is slated to splatter on retail shelves in first quarter, 1998 for PlayStation, Saturn and Windows® ’95.
“AvP gives players the opportunity to challenge or become sci-fi characters that have seared their way into the popular culture,” said Jon Richmond, president, Fox Interactive. “This is finally the opportunity to feel the fear and experience the ultimate in sci-fi terror in entirely different ways, with three distinctly different character roles.”
Combining story elements from the films Aliens and Predator, AvP invites you to choose between three different first-person perspectives: Alien, Predator or Colonial Marine. Your mission varies depending upon the role you choose, offering a completely diverse gaming experience, with different game objectives and accompanying weapons. Fueled by a new 3D engine, AvP also features multi-player capabilities enabling gamers to battle it out online as their favorite character.
AvP is a completely non-linear world, allowing you to revisit earlier levels, which is often necessary to progress through the plot. You have total freedom of movement (look up and down, jump and crouch) through a full physics modeling feature which enables different points of view, and allows objects like fragmentation grenades to bounce and spin around corners. Dynamic lighting adds to the spectacle of the game, immersing you in the atmosphere. For example, flares fired down a corridor progressively light up the walls as you move away from the flare.
AvP’s incredible 3D environment sets the stage for the chilling conflict that arises at the edge of the universe. Hell breaks loose on an outlying planet which is used by military and corporate interests for biological warfare research. Ferocious new weapons have been created by infecting animal hosts with alien embryos, spawning a cybernetically enhanced version of the Alien Xenomorph and the infection of a Predator by the same creature. When the research facility is sabotaged, the alien creatures escape and set off on a rampage of deadly destruction. The result is a furious, action-packed game which not only requires you to use strategy and brute force to kill the nemesis, but lets you become the “enemy” as well.
As the Alien, your mission is survival with the help of an arsenal of weapons that includes acid spit, your own very deadly tail and claws, and a top secret weapon that immediately upgrades you into a Xenoborg. Blink and it could be fatal. You can run with lightening speed, on walls and ceilings, move through air ducts and use unique vision and alien senses. As each level progresses, your strength multiplies until you ultimately becomes the most powerful and destructive player in the game.
In the role of the Predator, you begin armed only with wrist-blades and a shoulder cannon. Part of the crew of a captured scout ship, you were released by the sabotage of the base’s security system. You must find your weapons and the parts of the spaceship which have been removed for research, locate your crewmates and either rescue them or avenge their demise. Scanning prey with infrared vision, you rely on wrist blades, throwing disc, shoulder cannon, pistol and rifle to destroy everything and everyone in your path.
The Marine’s goal is to survive. Having just returned from a solo training mission, you have expended all of your resources and must scout out more ammunition and weapons in an attempt to make his way through the base. Your mission is to recover and secure the five Data Tapes containing Pandora Base’s research records and reveal your objectives, which include initiating the bases’ self destruct mechanism to prevent the Xenomorph infestation from spreading throughout space and fleeing the planet. In order to take on the treacherous onslaught of Aliens and the Predator, you are equipped with an image intensifier, motion tracker, armor, medical kits and display mapping. Your weapons include a pulse rifle (with grenades), auto-shotgun, smart gun (self targeting, 50 rounds a second and very useful for shooting Aliens on the ceiling), plasma gun, rocket launcher, flame thrower and a multi-ammo grenade launcher.
AvP will terrorize fans everywhere in first quarter of 1998. ESRB rating: pending

FOX INTERACTIVE UNLEASHES DEEP SPACE TERROR WITH ALIEN RESURRECTION:THE GAME
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 07, 1997) — Deep space terror reaches deep into the minds and reflexes of gamers as Fox Interactive warns of the coming of ALIEN RESURRECTION: THE GAME, a fast-paced, action-adventure based closely on the latest spine-chilling installment in Fox’s horrific Alien motion picture series.
Currently in development for Windows® 95 CD-ROM and PlayStation, ALIEN RESURRECTION will deliver diabolical amounts of firepower, horribly frightening Aliens and apocalyptic mayhem at levels of excitement and acid-dripping realism never before achieved. Blinding fast speed, captivating dialogue and mind-blowing sound effects sliced directly from the film will pull the player into the core of the action. In order to survive, both mind and muscle are needed to overcome the evil that awaits. When players delve inside this nightmare extra-terrestrial odyssey, they discover that all is not well aboard the military research vessel Auriga. All hell has broken loose, leaving a bloody aftermath of death and destruction. Inside the crippled spacecraft, the deranged Dr. Wren is one step away from escaping to Earth to continue his demonic cloning experiments — while swarms of Aliens close in on the ship’s few remaining survivors.
Face terror head on as one of five different playable characters. Then watch the fear unfold in heart-pounding third-person perspective with intelligent ‘smart camera’ viewpoint options. Think fast and fight even faster through 13 chilling levels of gameplay. But stay calm. You’ll need a clear head and a lightning fast trigger finger to fight off attacks from hordes of vicious Aliens using your diverse arsenal of high-powered weapons.
Fully destructible environments give you the ability to blast at anything and everything surrounding you in this race against the clock through the dark and foreboding corridors of the crumbling research vessel. With the help of ‘Father,’ the spacecraft’s omnipresent talking computer, you must complete specific tasks and individual missions assigned to each level to destroy Dr. Wren’s mutated human embryo experiments before the ship reaches Earth and the Aliens obliterate the human race.
Developed by British-based Argonaut Software, Ltd., ALIEN RESURRECTION: THE GAME will feature a fully polygonal 3D environment with intense action, awesome firepower and throngs of enemies. PC players will also be able to share the terror through a multi-player mode. ALIEN RESURRECTION: THE GAME will appear on retail shelves beginning Spring 1998 for Windows® 95 CD-ROM and PlayStation.
