Variants
Buckle up, Buttercup. Lots of variants to tackle for Final Fantasy Chronicles.
First, there’s the Canadian release, which includes a second manual all in French for our friends up north. Note that whole the Case an manual don’t reflect it, the SLUS *does* have the F in it confirmed by the security seal.
SLUS-01360F / 01363F, PSRM-022470, 022480 / UPC 6 2248 90102 2
Next, when Squaresoft and Square-Enix merged as a company, the game was reprinted to reflect the new found mega-company.
Aside from some minor cosmetic changes along with the company logo, none of the serial IDs changed.
The first Greatest Hits release was at the retail level. Serials get updated to:
SLUS-01360GH, 01363GH / PSRM-022471, 022481. Barcode is the same.
The next two variants are from Square-Enix’s online store. They are reprints that used non-branded double jewel cases (no Compact Disc Logo) and are printed on standard silver compact discs. These reprints were still going strong in 2020.
Version 1
One of the follow-up Square-Enix store print runs have the back insert having a slightly darker Greatest Hits banner on the spine then the front insert.
