Wholesale Distributor Sticker Tracking

Wholesale distribution is an industry within the video game industry. Besides the regular distribution of the hottest new releases, wholesalers would snag up dust-collecting stock and liquidate them to various retail outfits like Toys R Us, Target, Walmart, and more.

Variant hunters can sometimes be thrown off the scent due to wholesale stickers finding their way into other legitimate SKU sticker variants. While this page is by no means complete – and may never be, it serves as an easy-to-use identification table.

It should be obvious that these are NOT variants – they are just retail copies with a 3rd party’s decal on them. The purpose of the sticker seems to vary by need. On some, the same SKU runs across several games, implying they were more than likely part of a ‘dump bin’ or some sort of shippable pre-made display.

Other companies seem to have actually assigned games to specific barcodes. This may prove different if more games are found with the same number.

How To Use This Guide

Reference the first 5 main digits (i.e. x 12345 xxxxx x) in the barcode sticker. This will be the wholesaler’s marker. Now locate it in the tabs below and click. You’ll be brought to a list of known games shipped under that company. You will see two headers:

  • Ending in…
This is the sequential sequence of the company’s barcodes.
  • Set Ending in 02930
This is a set of games sharing the same SKU within the sequence.

If you do not see your game in the list, check the Unkown Tab. Some markers haven’t been identified yet and may be actual internal store codes rather than wholesale stickers.

If your game is not found in this list, PLEASE send me a photo of the game front and back and I’ll add it to the proper tab.
