September 18, 2001 is solemn day in the country as it’s been a full week after the September 11th attacks. As those of us trying to find some joy in all the chaos, this week’s releases have been more subdued. It also appears that two titles have been affected by the tragedy. Syphon Filter 3 and Spider-Man 2 appear to have been pulled back or recalled due to now unintentional references to the Twin Towers. We’ll see how the landscape changes for future releases.
For today though, we focus on the releases that still made it out. The first game in the pile is Hot Wheel Extreme Racing, a combat focused take on the toy cars.
Crave Entertainment decides there’s enough warrant for a sequel to their Razor scooter games. Razor Racing follows up with new tricks and areas.
The featured game is X-Men Mutant Academy 2 from Activision. A sequel to the original, part 2 introduces 6 new characters, new areas and Cerebro mode.
