Nov. 30 New Releases: Balls

So is everyone okay from the Black Friday chaos? No broken bones? Now that we can all go back to our regular lives, the PlayStation’s newest bag of goodies are almost all sports based, minus the one arcade game. Let’s get these balls rolling!

First up are two new releases from EA Sports with NBA Live 97 and FIFA Soccer 97. Hmm..sportball. I’m digging the themed color-by-year motif that the devs seem to be going with.

Next up is the sport I can relate to since you can drink and eat nachos on the field – bowling! ASC’s Ten Pin Alley needs to be seen to be believed. Probably the best pin physics ever seen in a game – taps, sideboards, flips, spins, it’s all there. The oil even degrades! Ignore the comical folk and get this game if you love the smell of nachos on the approach.

Finally, an upgrade to a sequel of an arcade game, Tempest X3. There’s been some serious arguments about this game’s worth when compared to the Tempest 2000 Jaguar release, but I like it – it’s got just the right visual vibe.

This Anniversary News Update celebrates the Game’s original release date 20 years later. This is part of a series treating the PlayStation as if it launched September 9th, 2015.
