Happy November everybody! Have you raided the 50% Off Halloween Candy sale bins yet? I have…sweet, sweet chocolate. While we’re all overdosing on Red 40 and sugar, let’s tackle today’s newest additions to the PlayStation family.
Out of the gate is NASCAR Racing, by Sierra On-Line. A 32-Bit port of the PC Game, rumblings from our fellow publications say the game’s amazing, and pretty damn impressive for the grey box. We’d try it, but truth be told we’re too busy playing….
…Street Fighter Alpha 2! That’s right, Q-Sound and everything that CPS2 does arrives on the newest shiny black media, but there’s something fishy going on. We also picked up the Saturn version, and while 2D by default is better on there, lots of little things are just superior on Sega’s platform. If you can forgive these short-comings, it’s still a hell of a game with Custom Combos and new characters to the roster.
Lastly, NBA Jam Extreme brings the arcade favorite into a 3D version, but with minor issues. The camera work can be a little off, and the graphics just don’t pop like the 2D ones did. We’ll leave final judgement for the review, but I’d probably rent this one first if you can.
Got all of that? Good, because the flood has arrived – 40 games are release in the month of November alone. If you haven’t gotten your Christmas lists written yet, now would be a very, very good time to do it. We’ll see you tomorrow.
