Variants

007: Tomorrow Never Dies has a curious set of Greatest Hits variants, and all of them relate to the green Greatest Hits bar. The first example Has a light green stripe, with neutral gray used on the “Greatest Hits” text that appears behind the PlayStation font logo.

The second Greatest Hits variant has a slightly lighter green tone, but now the “Greatest Hits” stripes are a much darker grey.

Greatest Hits – Dark Gray Stripes

The third known Greatest Hits release has a very eye-popping dark green stripe. All three carry the same SKU, SLUS, PSRM, and EA ID Tags, so it’s unclear if this was EA’s evolving design choice or Sony’s.

Finally, it was released along side 007 Racing and Medal of Honor in the EA 3-Pack Action Collector’s Edition.

Secrets

Unlockable items, cheats, debug options and more for Tomorrow Never Dies.
  • Unlock All Weapons with Full Ammo & More
In Current Mission Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, L1, L1, R1, R1. This gives you 50 of everything, including 50 Health Kits.
  • Finish Current Mission
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Select, Circle.
  • Invincibility
Pause the game and press Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Select. Repeat to turn off. If activated, Bond is impervious. You will need to deactivate this if you want to use the version with clipping removed below.
  • Invincibility Plus Clipping Removed
Pause the game and press: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Triangle, Triangle, Triangle. James will now take no damage, but can also pass through doors and walls like a ghost. You can use this code in the racing and skiing sequences to turn your transportation clipping off.
  • Unlock All Missions
At the Main Menu press: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, L1, L1, Circle, L1, L1. A sound effect will confirm it worked. You can now select any mission, even if not lit up. You will need to re-enter the code if you abort out of the mission.
  • View All Movie Clips
At the Main Menu press: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, L1, L1, L1, L1, L1, L1, L1. A sound effect will confirm it worked. Go to Options, and on the MOV: menu you can now select any movie file.
  • Cheat Camera View
Pause the game, and then press Select, Select, Circle, Circle, R2, R2. A nifty tool. A bunch of debug info will be on-screen. D-Pad looks around, L1 & R1 move the camera forward and backwards, L2 & R2 slide the camera side to side. Triangle and Cross move it vertically up and down, while Square starts and stops the action. If action is stopped, Circle moves the animation forward 1 frame at a time. The select button will change between a smooth movement and a frame-by-frame movement. Had this allowed the debug info to be removed, it’d have been a killer screenshot tool.
  • Unlock Debug Report Mode
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, L2, R2. Debug Info will now appear on-screen. Keep repeating this process to get different debug reports.
  • Turn off Button Prompts and Cutscenes
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Triangle, Triangle, Circle. This deactivates actionable items. For example, not being able to open the gate in the first level. Re-enter the code to deactivate.
  • Debug Data
Pause the game and enter: Select Select, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Circle, Triangle, Square
A small debug window will pop up allowing you to edit the values with the D-Pad, but nothing appears to happen. You are also stuck in place. Repeat the entire process to exit and continue the game.
  • Flash Mode
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Square, Square, Circle, Circle, This will cause James to slide to a stop like the DC comic book character, rather this his normal one-step stop.
  • Lock / Freeze Objects
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Select, Select, R1, R1. Code correctly activates, but I’m not sure what is being locked or frozen.
  • Light Up Convoy’s (Level 6’s) Opening Area
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Square, Triangle, Square. Begin walking and the street will be lit as if there were street lights.
  • Full Health
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Up, Up, Select. This will fully restore the life bar. Can repeat as often as needed.
  • Lack of Health
Pause the game and press: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Down, Down, Select. This drops the life bar to one hit.
  • Move The Square In the Main Menu
At the Main Menu press: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, L2, L2, R2, R2. A sound effect will confirm it worked. A green square appears in the upper left corner. The D-Pad moves it around, Square and Circle change its width, Triangle and Cross change it’s height. Holding L1 + D-Pad will make it move faster. Re-input the code to regain control of the regular cursor.
  • See Through Walls And Remove The Ground
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Select, Select, Circle, Circle. Repeat the code to undo the gimmick.
  • Open Doors Without Keys
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Square, Square, Square, Circle. A funny side effect of this code is that it will also unlock doors that were never meant to be open. James will not be able to enter these areas, but you can see into them. Most times it’s just empty black space.
  • Paris Carver Health Boost
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Select, Select, L2, L2. Gives Paris an extra chance at not dying when you are escaping with her from the hotel.
  • Remove Details
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Select, Select, R1, R1. Code is accepted, but I’m not sure what details are being removed.
  • Remove Fire Effects
Pause the game and press Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Select, Select, R1, R1. Repeat the sequence to disable it. This turns off all visual fire and smoke effects.
  • Remove All Objects
Pause the game and enter: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Select, Select, Square, Square. This will remove all non-mission-related object textures from the level, but their clipping is still active. It’s essentially a way to quickly see where things are, and then go back to normal to continue your path.
  • Remove On-Screen Displays
Pause the game and press: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Left, Right, Select. Repeat the process to bring the HUD back.
  • Shot Items Get Highlighted with their Hit Boxes
Pause the game and press: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Circle, Circle. This will cause non-NPC items like walls, vehicles and objects to display their hitboxes once shot. More than likely a debug tool.
  • Show Level Borders
Pause the game and press: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Triangle, Square, Square. As you reach the end of a stage, a green, red, and blue line will appear, showing you can go no further.
  • Show Objective Locations
Pause the game and press: Select, Select, Circle, Circle, R1, R1, R1. If done correctly, you’ll back out of the menu and the next objective(s) will be highlighted in a green wireframe. Repeat the code to turn it off.
