This isn’t a red flag exercise – it’s the real thing!

An international crime organization has enlisted the help of several allied countries to build an incredibly powerful military force. Hostile situations are deemed inevitable. As a team member of an elite, first strike air unit, you are called to duty. The situation is code red… and classified.

  • HIT THE AFTERBURNERS! Pilot your choice of real fighters: the Phantom II, Tomcat, Hornet, Eagle, Falcon and the Superstar.
  • EXPERIENCE THE THRILL! ‘Bug out’ of intense dogfights with tight controls, realistic physics and unbelievably nauseating 360 degree movement.
  • THE (ROE) RULES OF ENGAGEMENT! Feel the heat as you fly into dangerous missions in multiple modes, executing air-to-air, air-to-ground and air-to-sea attack operations.
  • NAVIGATE IN 2 DISTINCT VIEWS. The Cockpit view puts you in the hot seat; while the HUD view provides an up-close challenge.

Trivia

  • The game was published by Asmik in Japan – those folks who brought you the NES game Boomer in ASMIK’s World.
  • The term ‘Bogey Dead 6’ is pilot speak for “There is a plane directly behind you.” Noon would be directly in front of the plane.
  • One of the few PlayStation games to support both the Link Cable and the original massive Analog Joystick.

Secrets

Let’s get some goodies in Bogey Dead 6!

Programmer’s Cheats
  • Unlimited Continues
This can be insanely frustrating to do, so take it slow. Select the Training option from the main menu, then choose the ‘Wolves Awakening’ mission. Once in the level, turn the plane until you’re heading towards 010 degrees North. Ramp up your speed and do your best to avoid the enemies and their missiles coming your way. Continue heading North until a large yellow circle blip appears on the lower radar display. Equip the air-to-ground missiles and fire at the mountain that they lock on to. Even if you don’t lock on, a well-placed missile will explode the mountain. A group of giant gold bars will appear from the debris. Now destroy the gold bars. End the training mission by crashing and returning to the main menu. The word ”Infinity” will replace the aircraft icons on the ‘Continue’ game screen to confirm it worked. For reference, it takes about 80 seconds to reach the mountain shot is not a lock-on.
  • Acquire All Fighters
At the Fighter Select screen quickly press Left, Left, Right, Down, Up, Down, Right, Select. You’ll hear a voice yell “GOOD!” Now all aircraft are available!
  • Acquire All Missions
At the Mission Select screen with the map, press Up, Down, Down, Right, Left, Down, Up, Triangle. You’ll hear a voice yell “GOOD!” Now all missions will be available.
  • 999 seconds
At the Loading Screen press and hold L1, L2, R1, R2, Cross, Circle, Triangle, Square, and Left until the mission starts.
