Only half the games of yesterday came out today, but that still means we get two!
The first contender for your weekly paycheck is Hexen, a sort of First Person Dungeons and Dragons style game that runs off of a modified Doom engine. Rather than lots of red and grey, you get to look at a lot of brown and grey. Ran a lap or two through the first area to get a feel. Seems like a decent port, but I don’t know if Doom lovers will jump on this or if it was specifically targeted to those who don’t play id’s masterpiece.
The other release today is hopefully the first in many of its kind; a true PlayStation exclusive version of a game. Descent Maximum is a PlayStation specific release of the vomit-bag-needed full 3D spaceship shooter ported from the PC. If you can actually stomach the constant spinning and turning, this provides you 36 more levels, faster gameplay and more epileptic seizure effects.
Not much else till the 20th. See you then!
